Ceebros Hotels will launch its 2nd 5 star property under its ecotel brand in Nandanam (Chennai). The Rs 100 Crore property is ready, but operations will commence only in April 2009. The 228 room property will offer a coffee shop, two specialty restaurants, a bar and two banquet halls for 400 persons each.
It also plans to set up a five star hotel near the suburban railway station close to Chennai airport. The property is expected launch in 2011.

Rajasthan sees 100 per cent growth in tourism
Rajasthan is witnessing 100 per cent growth in the tourism sector. Acc. to Usha Punia, Minister of State for Tourism, Rajasthan, the foreign tourist arrivals has gone up from 6.29 lakh in 2003 to 14.01 lakh in 2007. Similarly, the arrival of domestic tourists has also increased from 125.40 lakh in 2003 to 259.21 lakh in 2007. Adding further she said that one in every four tourists coming to India visits Rajasthan.

Orange County plans for new three more luxury resorts in Karnataka
Orange County, which owns two resorts in Karnataka, has coming up with a Rs 224 Crore expansion plan to launch three more luxury resorts in the state and one at Kumarakom in Kerala's backwaters. The coastal city of Karwar, and Hampi, a world heritage site, will be the locations for the upcoming resorts in Karnataka.
The company is in talks with banks and private equity firms for funding. It expects the projects at Hampi and Bengaluru to be completed by 2009-'10, while the resort at Karwar will be ready by 2010-'11 and Kumarakom by 2011-'12.

EIH would invest Rs 650 crore in two new hotels in Goa & Bangalore
East India Hotels, the flagship company of Oberoi group said that it would invest around Rs 650 crore in its two properties in Bangalore and Goa.
Bangalore will be a 400-room property on an eight-acre plot while Goa will have both hotel and villas on a 50-acre plot.
